28/04/2026

The Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is pleased to announce a series of significant events scheduled for April 30, 2026. Organized under the framework of the OliveOilMedNet project, these events are dedicated to the strategic advancement of the Mediterranean olive oil sector. The sessions aim to link the certification of authenticity and sustainable production with tourism, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of “green” olive oil products.

The day commences with the Hybrid Peer-Learning Event at the PCCI building from 10:00 to 14:00 CET. This international exchange explores critical synergies between the olive oil and tourism sectors, featuring the following key points:

  • Analysis of the current status of the olive oil sector in Cyprus and the presentation of the project’s Digital Catalogue of Authentic & Green Olive Oils.
  • Promotion of authentic local extra virgin olive oils through tourism and the contribution of olive oil to local development.

In the afternoon, a Publicity Event will be held at the Fitosinn Hotel in Geroskipou at 18:00 Cyprus local time. This session aims to inform stakeholders about the project’s progress and the technical methodologies utilized to ensure the authenticity of local olive oils.

The day’s activities conclude with a Demonstration Event at 19:30 Cyprus local time, highlighting the project’s pilot application with local producers in Cyprus. This final session includes:

  • The official presentation and demonstration of the Digital Catalogue, alongside the results of pilot applications of authenticity and sustainability methods in Cyprus.
  • A specialized Olive Oil Tasting Demonstration focusing on the organoleptic profiles of the local Ladoelia and Koroneiki varieties.
  • A live gastronomic demonstration of traditional dishes and recipes based on local extra virgin olive oils and agri-food products.

The Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry invites all interested stakeholders, producers, and hospitality professionals to participate in this vital dialogue regarding the future of our region’s olive growing heritage.
